At The Teddy Bear Shop our layby scheme... has been designed with YOU in mind!
- There is no minimum purchase price for placing an item on layby
- You will receive electronically updated dockets designed so that you can more easily keep track of your layby and your payment
- Laybys are usually for a twelve week period with fortnightly payments, however you may negotiate an alternative to this
- We will negotiate with you a new payment plan during the life of the layby if your circumstances change
- You can make payments in-store, by credit card over the phone, or by direct deposit using EFT.
If you:
- are a long-time collector looking to lay-by a major limited edition item
- someone who wants to make sure that they can secure an item but do not have the cash just at the moment
- are a young person wishing to lay-by your first purchase

Our Layby Terms and Conditions
1. A layby Agreement is a contract. You must be 18 years of age or over to enter into a contract.
2. Laybys will be held for twelve weeks and payments should be a maximum of fourteen days apart, unless you have negotiated an individual agreement with us. If you do not make payments at the agreed rate / frequency and you fail to contact us within 2 weeks of the first missed payment we may cancel this Agreement. If we cancel this Agreement because you have not made payments and not contacted us you may be liable for cancellation fees.
3. We will store the item/s noted on the Agreement and release them to you when payment has been made in full. We will either release them to you (or your approved representative) in person, or mail them to you. If we mail them to you postage charges may apply. Postage charges will have to be paid prior to us sending the item/s to you.
4. If the item/s are damaged or lost while in our storage, or if we fail to source the item/s by an agreed time, we will either replace it/them with the same item/s or refund you the full amount of all payments made. No cancellation fee will apply.
5. You can cancel the Agreement at any time before you collect the item/s. If you cancel the Agreement because you changed your mind or no longer want the item/s we will charge you a cancellation fee (see below). If your payments made up until the time you cancel do not cover the cancellation fee you will be liable for the balance of the cancellation fee.
6. If the item/s you layby are part of our usual stock range we will charge you a cancellation fee equivalent to 15% of the layby price. This is to cover our administrative and storage costs, and depreciation in value of the item/s during the period they were in storage.
7. If the item/s are not part of our usual stock range and we have specifically sourced these for you at your request we will charge you a cancellation fee equivalent to 25% of the layby price and any freight/shipping charges we have paid. This is to cover our administrative and storage costs, depreciation in value of the item/s during the period they were in storage, negotiations with the source to accept return of the item/s, our costs to return item/s to the sources or our costs in attempting to re-sell them.
